Leipzig/Halle is a metropolitan region in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, centered around the cities of Leipzig and Halle (Saale). It is one of the major economic and cultural hubs in eastern Germany, often referred to as the "City Region Leipzig/Halle" or the "Leipzig-Halle Aglomeration." The region's development has been shaped by its historical significance, industrial past, and more recently, its growing importance in logistics, research, and culture.
