Laservannstraåleskjæring

Laservannstraåleskjæring is a hybrid machining process that combines the capabilities of laser cutting and waterjet cutting. In this method, a high-pressure water stream is used to erode material, while a laser beam is simultaneously employed to pre-heat or partially melt the material. This synergy allows for the cutting of a wider range of materials and can improve cutting speed and edge quality compared to using either technology alone.

The process typically involves a focused laser beam that strikes the workpiece, creating a localized heat affected zone. Immediately following the laser's action, a high-pressure abrasive waterjet is directed at the same spot. The heat from the laser softens or melts the material, making it easier for the abrasive particles in the waterjet to remove it. This combination can be particularly effective for materials that are difficult to cut with traditional methods, such as hardened steels, ceramics, and composites.
