Lapsityövoima refers to the employment of children in work that deprives them of their childhood, their potential, and their dignity. This type of labor is often exploitative and harmful, interfering with a child's physical, mental, social, or moral development. While the term "child labor" can encompass a wide range of activities, it typically refers to work that is mentally, physically, socially, or morally dangerous and harmful to children, and that interferes with their schooling by depriving them of the opportunity to attend school, obliging them to leave school prematurely, or requiring them to combine school attendance with excessively long and heavy work.
