Laitekierrätys refers to the recycling of electronic and electrical equipment. This process is crucial for managing the growing amount of waste generated by discarded devices. These items, often called WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), contain valuable materials that can be recovered and reused, as well as hazardous substances that need to be disposed of safely.

The purpose of laitekierrätys is twofold: environmental protection and resource conservation.
