Lahused

Lahused is a small town and municipality in the Valorian region of the fictional country of Valoria. It lies along the Lahuse River, about 40 kilometers from the regional capital, and is part of the Verdan Province.

The landscape is characterized by rolling farmland, deciduous forests, and a historic town center. The municipality covers roughly 12 square kilometers and sits at a modest elevation of around 60 meters.

Lahused was first mentioned in records from the 14th century, with a secondary role as a local market town. It grew around a parish church and a timber mill, expanding through the 18th and 19th centuries. In the late 20th century, Lahused integrated into a county-wide municipal framework.

As of 2022, the population stands around 2,400. The economy is based on agriculture—dairy and cereals—plus small manufacturing and services serving local residents. A weekly market and a rural crafts cooperative support local commerce.

Lahused has a small cultural center, a public library, and a primary school. The annual Harvest Festival highlights regional produce and traditional music. A volunteer fire department and a sports club serve the community.

Local government is headed by a mayor and a 12-member town council elected for four-year terms. The council is responsible for planning, schooling, and community services.

Notable sites include the 17th-century Church of St. Helena and the Old Mill, both preserved as part of the town's heritage.
