Lagranulocitosi

Lagranulocitosi is a rare hematological disorder characterized by an abnormally low count of granulocytes in the peripheral blood. Granulocytes are a type of white blood cell that plays a crucial role in the immune system, particularly in the fight against infections.

The condition is often identified by a decrease in the concentration of neutrophils, a type of granulocyte, in the peripheral blood. Neutrophils are the most common granulocyte and contribute significantly to the body's defense against infections, especially those caused by bacteria.

The exact cause of lagranulocitosi is not well understood and can be attributed to various factors, including genetic conditions, autoimmune disorders, and certain types of cancer. Some cases have been linked to leukemia, lymphoma, and other hematological malignancies.

Symptoms of lagranulocitosi may vary depending on the underlying cause and the severity of the condition.
