LDRbild

LDRbild is not a widely established term in mainstream reference works. In German-language electronics contexts, LDR stands for light-dependent resistor (photoresistor) and Bild means image or diagram. The combination LDRbild is typically used informally to refer to either an image illustrating an LDR component or a project or schematic named LDRbild. There is no formal standard definition.

In educational and hobbyist use, LDRbild often denotes circuit diagrams or schematic visuals that show how an LDR can be used as a light sensor. A common arrangement is a resistive divider: the LDR in series with a fixed resistor between a supply and ground, with the junction feeding an input such as an analog-to-digital converter or a comparator. As ambient light increases, the LDR’s resistance decreases, causing a change in the output voltage that can be measured or used to trigger actions.

LDRs are typically cadmium sulfide (CdS) photoresistors. They respond to visible light with a rapid but non-linear response and show considerable device-to-device variation. They generally require calibration and can be slower than modern photodiodes, which affects suitability for high-speed sensing. Their spectral response is broad and peaks in the visible region.

Applications of LDRbild-related diagrams or concepts include basic ambient light sensing, automatic brightness control, light-triggered switches, and educational demonstrations of sensor circuits.
