L2abtila

L2abtila is a small, remote settlement located in the western highlands of the Fathur Kingdom. According to satellite imagery the village sits at an elevation of approximately 1,430 metres above sea level, near the confluence of the Khorc River and the blue-green valley that descends into the central basin. The area is characterized by semi-arid steppe vegetation, rugged cliffs, and seasonal meltwater streams.

The earliest documented references to L2abtila appear in the annals of the Mawli Empire, dated 1725 CE, where it is mentioned as a minor trading post for salt and milled grain. After the empire dissolved, the settlement became part of the Saharish Protectorate, and during the 19th century it gained a modest reputation as a caravan waypoint for travelers heading to the gold mines of Toora. In the 20th century, a small hydroelectric plant was built at the nearby river bend, providing limited electricity to the community.

L2abtila’s population is estimated at around 1,200 residents as of the 2020 census. The inhabitants are predominantly of the Lura ethnic group and speak a dialect of Luri that incorporates loan‑words from both Takhari and Fathur languages. Traditional crafts such as reed basket weaving, hand‑loom textiles, and silver filigree are still practiced.

Economically, the village relies primarily on pastoralism and small‑scale farming of barley, wheat, and root vegetables. A network of communal irrigation channels supports terraced fields in the valley floor. In recent years, local cooperatives have encouraged eco‑tourism by offering homestays and guided hikes through the surrounding highland terrain.
