Löpeffektiviteten
Löpeffektiviteten, often translated as running economy, refers to the physiological cost of sustained locomotion at a given speed. It is a measure of how much oxygen a runner consumes to maintain a certain pace. A runner with higher löpeffektiviteten requires less oxygen to run at the same speed as a runner with lower löpeffektiviteten. This means that for the same submaximal effort, the runner with better löpeffektiviteten can sustain a faster pace or run at a given pace for longer.
Factors influencing löpeffektiviteten are numerous and interconnected. Biomechanical factors play a significant role, including running form,
Improving löpeffektiviteten is a key goal for endurance athletes, as it can lead to enhanced performance. Training
