Lángpolírozás

Lángpolírozás, also known as flame polishing or flame polishing of plastics, is a finishing technique used to improve the surface appearance of transparent plastics. This process involves briefly exposing the rough or matte surface of a plastic part to a controlled, high-temperature flame. The heat from the flame melts the very outermost layer of the plastic, which then flows to fill in any imperfections, scratches, or surface irregularities.

The result of lángpolírozás is a smooth, transparent, and often glossy surface that can significantly enhance the aesthetic appeal of plastic components. This method is particularly effective on acrylic (PMMA) and polycarbonate. It is crucial to control the flame intensity, duration, and distance from the material to avoid damaging or distorting the plastic. Overexposure can lead to melting, charring, or loss of dimensional accuracy.

Lángpolírozás is a fast and relatively inexpensive method for achieving a high-quality finish. It is often used in applications where optical clarity and a smooth, defect-free surface are important, such as in lenses, display cases, signage, and decorative items. The process requires specialized equipment and skilled operators to ensure consistent and optimal results.
