Küzdket

Küzdket is a fictional plant species created for fantasy literature and tabletop role-playing games. The name derives from a constructed language spoken by mountain communities in the setting, with etymologies varying by source; common readings link the syllables to concepts like “watchful” and “seed.”

Küzdket grows as a low, clump-forming shrub reaching roughly 20 to 40 centimeters in height. It has slender, leathery leaves with a subtle silvery sheen, and the plant’s defining feature is a solitary, rounded capsule that glows faintly in darkness due to bioluminescent compounds. The capsule typically splits at dusk, releasing seeds that are carried aloft by light evening breezes.

The plant favors shaded limestone outcrops, talus slopes, and cave entrances where moisture and cool temperatures persist. It often forms colonies in microhabitats with regular night dew and has evolved a mutualistic relationship with glow-dwelling insects that pollinate its flowers and aid in seed dispersal.

Reproduction occurs mainly through the nocturnal flowering of the capsule-bearing shoots.
