Külmkõlbuliku is an Estonian term that translates to "frost-tolerant" or "cold-hardy." It is used to describe plants, seeds, or other biological materials that can withstand freezing temperatures without suffering significant damage or loss of viability. This characteristic is crucial for agriculture, horticulture, and natural ecosystems, particularly in regions with cold winters.

In the context of plants, külmkõlbulik species or varieties are able to survive low temperatures, often below 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit), during their dormant periods. This tolerance can vary greatly depending on the plant species, its life stage (seed, seedling, mature plant), and the duration and intensity of the cold.
