Közétkeztetési (also known as "consultation" or "involvement") refers to the process of engaging stakeholders, employees, or the public in discussions, decision-making, or planning to gather input, improve transparency, and enhance the quality of outcomes. In Hungarian administrative and organizational contexts, the term is often used in governance, public administration, and corporate settings to describe structured dialogue between institutions and those affected by their policies or operations.

The purpose of közétkeztetési is to ensure that diverse perspectives are considered before final decisions are made. This can involve public hearings, surveys, focus groups, or formal consultations with experts, community representatives, or affected parties. In Hungary, such processes are sometimes legally mandated in environmental impact assessments, urban planning, or regulatory changes to comply with transparency and participatory governance principles.

Effective közétkeztetési requires clear communication, accessible information, and mechanisms for feedback. While it does not guarantee that all suggestions will be implemented, it fosters trust and accountability by demonstrating that stakeholders’ voices are heard. In corporate settings, employee consultations may focus on workplace policies, while in public administration, it often relates to policy formulation or local development projects.

The success of közétkeztetési depends on factors such as inclusivity, timing, and the willingness of institutions to incorporate feedback. When done well, it strengthens relationships between organizations and their communities, leading to more sustainable and socially acceptable decisions.
