Köthen
Köthen is a town in the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. It is located in the middle of the Leipzig-Halle and Magdeburg metropolitan regions. The town is historically significant, particularly for its association with the composer Johann Sebastian Bach, who lived and worked there as Kapellmeister from 1717 to 1723. During this period, Bach composed some of his most famous works, including the Brandenburg Concertos and The Well-Tempered Clavier. The Bach memorial in Köthen commemorates his time in the town.
