Kétfókuszellátást, also known as bifocal infusion, is a type of ophthalmological procedure that involves the simultaneous delivery of two different solutions or medications into the eye. This technique is primarily employed during certain intraocular surgeries, most commonly cataract surgery. The purpose is to maintain intraocular pressure and provide a stable environment within the eye while surgical manipulations are performed.

Typically, one infusion line delivers balanced salt solution (BSS) to keep the anterior chamber formed and prevent it from collapsing. The second infusion line can deliver various substances, such as a viscoelastic agent to protect delicate ocular tissues like the corneal endothelium and lens capsule, or a pharmacological agent to achieve a specific therapeutic effect. For instance, it might be used to deliver antibiotics to prevent infection or anti-inflammatory medications to reduce post-operative swelling.

The dual infusion system offers several advantages. It allows for precise control over intraocular pressure, which is crucial for surgical success and minimizing complications. The ability to deliver a second agent concurrently can streamline surgical steps, reduce overall surgical time, and improve patient outcomes by initiating therapeutic effects early in the procedure.
