Käänteisbiastoitu is a Finnish term that translates to "reverse-bred" in English. It refers to a concept, often encountered in scientific or technical contexts, where a system or process is designed or analyzed by working backward from a desired outcome or result. Instead of starting with an initial input and following a linear progression to an output, one begins with the end product and deconstructs it to understand the steps, conditions, or components that must have led to it.

They then work backward to identify the genetic markers or gene combinations responsible for that trait.
