Käytöleasingissä

Käytöleasingissä, known in English as usage leasing or operational leasing, is a form of vehicle financing common in Finland and other Nordic countries. It is a long-term rental agreement where a company or individual leases a vehicle for a fixed period, typically ranging from two to five years. Unlike traditional financing where the user eventually owns the vehicle, with käytöleasingissä, the lessee only pays for the use of the vehicle.

The monthly payment in a käytöleasingissä agreement usually includes not only the use of the vehicle but also a comprehensive package of services. This package often covers maintenance, repairs, insurance, tire changes, and sometimes even vehicle tax and roadside assistance. The intention is to provide a predictable and hassle-free ownership experience for the user, as most operational costs are bundled into a single monthly fee.

At the end of the leasing period, the lessee simply returns the vehicle to the leasing company. There is typically no option to purchase the vehicle, and the lessee is not responsible for its resale value. This contrasts with financial leasing, where the lessee often has the option to buy the vehicle at a predetermined price after the lease term. Käytöleasingissä is often favored by businesses looking to manage their fleet costs effectively and avoid the risks associated with vehicle depreciation and residual value. For individuals, it offers a way to drive a new car without the commitment of ownership and the burdens of unexpected repair costs.
