Käyttöliittymänä is a Finnish phrase formed from käyttöliittymä (user interface) with the instrumental suffix -nä, used to express "in the role of" or "as a." It refers to the function or position of a component within a system, indicating how something serves as the interface through which a user interacts with a product, service, or application.

In Finnish, käyttöliittymänä is commonly used in technical and design contexts to describe the role of a component in facilitating user interaction. It often appears with verbs such as toimia (to function), olla (to be), or tarjota (to offer). For example, "Laite toimii käyttöliittymänä" translates to "The device functions as a user interface," and "Käyttöliittymänä se tarjoaa selkeän navigoinnin" means "As a user interface, it provides clear navigation." The construction allows speakers to discuss how different parts of a system contribute to the overall user experience.
