Käytettävyyssuunnittelu, also known as usability engineering or user-centered design, is a field dedicated to making products, systems, and services easy and enjoyable to use. The ultimate aim is to create solutions that are effective, efficient, and satisfying for the user.

The process typically involves several key activities. Based on this research, designers create prototypes, ranging from low-fidelity wireframes to high-fidelity interactive mockups, to visualize and test design concepts. Usability testing is a crucial step where actual users interact with the product or prototype, and their behavior, feedback, and difficulties are observed and analyzed. This iterative process of designing, testing, and refining ensures that usability issues are identified and addressed early on.
