Käigukangil
Käigukangil, also known as a gear shift lever or gear stick, is a component in a manual transmission vehicle that allows the driver to select different gears. It is typically connected to a linkage system that actuates the internal gears of the transmission. By moving the käigukangil through a specific pattern, often indicated on a diagram on the lever itself or on the dashboard, the driver can engage first gear for starting off, higher gears for increasing speed, and reverse for backing up. Neutral is a position where no gear is engaged, allowing the engine to run while the vehicle is stationary. The operation of the käigukangil requires the simultaneous pressing of the clutch pedal in most manual transmissions. This disengages the engine from the transmission, allowing the gears to be shifted smoothly. Different vehicle designs may have variations in the shape, size, and positioning of the käigukangil, but its fundamental function remains the same across most manual transmission vehicles. The precise feel and engagement of the käigukangil can vary significantly between different car models, contributing to the overall driving experience.
