Kylmähöyrystin

Kylmähöyrystin, also known as a cold vaporizer or evaporative cooler, is a device that cools air through the process of evaporation. It works by drawing in warm, dry air and passing it over water-soaked pads or a similar medium. As the water evaporates, it absorbs heat from the air, thereby lowering the air's temperature. The cooled, humidified air is then expelled back into the room.

Unlike air conditioners, kylmähöyrystin does not use refrigerants or compressors. They are generally more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. However, their effectiveness is dependent on the ambient humidity. In dry climates, they can significantly reduce temperatures. In humid environments, their cooling capacity is diminished, and they can increase indoor humidity, potentially leading to discomfort or mold growth if not managed properly.

Kylmähöyrystin typically consist of a water reservoir, a fan, a pump to circulate water, and absorbent cooling pads. The fan draws air through the wet pads. The water in the reservoir needs to be replenished periodically. These units are often portable, making them a flexible cooling solution for homes, workshops, or outdoor spaces. They are a simpler and often more affordable alternative to traditional air conditioning for localized cooling needs, especially in arid regions.
