Kvantumiehkäisyssä

Kvantumiehkäisyssä, often translated as quantum entanglement in English, is a phenomenon in quantum mechanics where two or more particles become linked in such a way that they share the same fate, regardless of the distance separating them. This connection is established when particles interact and their quantum states become correlated. Measuring a property of one entangled particle instantaneously influences the corresponding property of the other(s).

The principle of entanglement was famously described by Albert Einstein, Boris Podolsky, and Nathan Rosen in their 1935 paper, often referred to as the EPR paradox. They questioned the completeness of quantum mechanics, suggesting that entangled particles might possess hidden variables predetermining their states. However, subsequent experiments, most notably those by John Stewart Bell and Alain Aspect, have largely ruled out local hidden variable theories, strongly supporting the non-local nature of quantum entanglement.

Entanglement has profound implications for our understanding of reality and forms the basis for emerging quantum technologies. These include quantum computing, which leverages entanglement to perform calculations far beyond the capabilities of classical computers, and quantum cryptography, which uses entanglement for secure communication. The phenomenon remains a cornerstone of quantum physics research, pushing the boundaries of scientific inquiry.
