Kvantumelméletekkel, in English quantum theories, refers to a fundamental framework in physics that describes nature at the smallest scales of energy and matter. These theories are built upon the principle that energy, momentum, and other physical quantities are often restricted to discrete values, or quanta. Unlike classical physics, which assumes these quantities can vary continuously, quantum mechanics posits that they exist in "packets."

A cornerstone of quantum theories is wave-particle duality. This concept states that elementary particles, such as electrons and photons, exhibit characteristics of both waves and particles. This duality is not easily visualized but is mathematically described by the Schrödinger equation, which governs the probability distribution of a quantum system.

Another key principle is the uncertainty principle, formulated by Werner Heisenberg. It states that there are fundamental limits to how precisely certain pairs of physical properties of a particle, like its position and momentum, can be known simultaneously. The more accurately one property is measured, the less accurately the other can be determined.

Quantum theories have led to the development of technologies like lasers, transistors, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The ongoing research in quantum mechanics continues to explore phenomena such as quantum entanglement, where particles become linked in such a way that they share the same fate regardless of the distance separating them, and quantum computing, which promises to revolutionize computation by harnessing quantum mechanical principles.
