Kuvantunnistustehtävät, or image recognition tasks, are a fundamental area of research in computer vision and machine learning. These tasks involve developing algorithms that can accurately identify and classify objects, scenes, or other features within digital images or videos. The primary goal is to enable machines to interpret visual data in a manner similar to human perception.

Image recognition tasks can be broadly categorized into several types. Object detection involves identifying and locating objects within an image, often by drawing bounding boxes around them. Techniques such as transfer learning, where pre-trained models are fine-tuned on specific datasets, have further improved the performance and efficiency of image recognition systems.

Applications of image recognition tasks are vast and diverse. They are used in various fields such as autonomous driving, medical imaging, security and surveillance, and even in consumer electronics like smartphones for features such as facial recognition and image search.
