Kuoriputkilämmönsiirtimet

Kuoriputkilämmönsiirtimet, often referred to as shell and tube heat exchangers in English, are a common type of heat transfer equipment used in a wide variety of industrial processes. They consist of a bundle of tubes enclosed within a larger cylindrical shell. One fluid flows through the tubes, while the other fluid flows around the tubes within the shell. Heat is transferred between the two fluids through the tube walls.

The design of kuoriputkilämmönsiirtimet allows for flexibility in handling different types of fluids, pressures, and temperatures. They are robust and can be constructed from various materials, making them suitable for corrosive or high-temperature applications. The flow paths can be configured in multiple passes to increase heat transfer efficiency.

Key components include the shell, tube bundle (made up of many small tubes), tube sheets that support the tubes, baffles that direct the shell-side fluid flow, and the stationary or floating heads that allow for thermal expansion and fluid entry/exit. The arrangement and type of baffles, as well as the number of tube passes, significantly influence the performance and pressure drop characteristics of the exchanger.

Kuoriputkilämmönsiirtimet are widely employed in chemical processing, petroleum refining, power generation, and HVAC systems. Their reliability and relatively simple maintenance contribute to their widespread adoption. However, they can be bulky and may require significant space. Cleaning can also be a factor, especially with fouling fluids.
