Kulyuk

Kulyuk is a genus of flowering plants in the family Orchidaceae, commonly known as the ghost orchids. These orchids are terrestrial and are characterized by their leafless, photosynthetic stems and delicate, white or greenish-white flowers. The genus is native to Southeast Asia, with species found in countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

The most well-known species within the genus Kulyuk is Kulyuk paradoxa, often referred to as the "ghost orchid" due to its ethereal appearance and elusive nature. This particular species is critically endangered in the wild, facing threats from habitat loss and illegal collection. Its unique appearance, with its pale, translucent stem and flower that seems to float in the air, has made it a subject of fascination and conservation efforts.
