Kuivuskindluse
Kuivuskindluse, also known as Kuivus Castle, is a historic castle located in the town of Kuivus, Estonia. The castle was built in the 13th century during the time of the Livonian Crusade, and it served as a defensive stronghold for the Teutonic Knights. The castle is constructed from local sandstone and features a rectangular layout with a central keep and surrounding walls. The keep, which is the main tower of the castle, is a three-story structure with a square base and a conical roof. The castle walls are approximately 2.5 meters thick and are reinforced with towers at each corner. The castle was abandoned in the 16th century and has since fallen into disrepair. Today, Kuivuskindluse is a popular tourist attraction and is open to the public for guided tours. The castle is located in a beautiful natural setting, surrounded by forests and lakes, and offers visitors a glimpse into Estonia's medieval past.
