Kubitille is a term used in crystallography and speculative mineralogy to denote a hypothetical cubic silicate mineral with a highly symmetric lattice. The name is derived from the word cube, reflecting its proposed three‑dimensional cubic symmetry.

Definition and structure: In theoretical models, kubitille would crystallize in a cubic crystal system, with a network of interconnected tetrahedra or octahedra forming a rigid framework. Depending on the arrangement, it is described as primitive cubic or face-centered cubic, with a high degree of symmetry and isotropic properties in the idealized form.

Properties: Predicted attributes include optical transparency in the visible range, a refractive index in a typical silicate range (approximately 1.5 to 1.75), and a Mohs hardness in the mid-to-upper range for silicate minerals.
