Ksimelodoonid refers to a genus of ancient amonoids, a type of extinct cephalopod that belongs to the family Atrypidina. These organisms lived during the Late Ordovician period, approximately 450-420 million years ago.

The ksimelodoonid fossils have been found in various parts of the world, with a significant number of discoveries made in Estonia, Latvia, and Russia. These fossils typically consist of a shell that is divided into many flat, basketball-like layers.
