Kredarica

Kredarica is a mountain summit in the Julian Alps of western Slovenia, located within Triglav National Park. It lies near the central Triglav mass and is notable for the alpine hut that stands on its summit, making it a recognizable landmark for hikers and climbers in the region.

The key feature on Kredarica is the Planinska koča na Kredarici, a mountain hut operated by the Slovenian Alpine Association. The hut provides shelter, meals, and lodging for climbers and hikers and serves as a common base for ascents toward Triglav and other nearby peaks. It is one of the highest-altitude shelters in Slovenia and is frequently used by teams undertaking multi-day alpine routes.

Access to Kredarica is via marked alpine trails from various starting points in the Slovene Alps, including the Vrata Valley and Mojstrana. Routes are typically undertaken by prepared hikers and mountaineers, with attention to seasonal weather, trail conditions, and appropriate equipment for exposure and elevation.
