Korrózióvédk refers to methods and techniques used to prevent or slow down the degradation of materials, primarily metals, due to chemical or electrochemical reactions with their environment. This degradation process, known as corrosion, can lead to significant structural damage, reduced lifespan of components, and economic losses.

Common corrosion protection strategies include applying protective coatings, such as paints, varnishes, enamels, or metallic layers like galvanization. These coatings act as a barrier, separating the material from the corrosive elements in the environment. Another widely used method is cathodic protection, which involves making the metal structure the cathode of an electrochemical cell, thereby reducing its tendency to corrode. This can be achieved using sacrificial anodes, which are more electrochemically active metals that corrode instead of the protected structure, or by using impressed current systems.

Material selection is also a crucial aspect of corrosion prevention. Using corrosion-resistant alloys, such as stainless steel or certain aluminum alloys, in corrosive environments can significantly extend the service life of equipment and structures. Furthermore, design considerations, like avoiding crevices where moisture and corrosive agents can accumulate, play a vital role. Environmental control, such as reducing humidity or the presence of corrosive substances, can also be implemented. Proper maintenance and regular inspection of protective measures are essential for ensuring their continued effectiveness.
