Korbytes
Korbytes is a unit of digital information storage, specifically a kilobyte (kB) multiplied by 1024. The term "korbyte" is derived from the Russian word "коробка" (korobka), which means "box" or "case," reflecting the idea of a box containing 1024 bytes. This unit is often used in Russian-speaking countries and in some Eastern European countries to avoid confusion with the metric kilobyte (kB), which is 1000 bytes. The korbyte is equal to 1024 bytes, or 1,048,576 bits. It is commonly used in the context of data storage, file sizes, and digital communications. The use of korbytes helps to distinguish between the binary and decimal systems of measurement, which is important in fields where precision is crucial.
