Konvektorilämpömittari

Konvektorilämpömittari, also known as a convection thermometer, is a type of thermometer that utilizes the principle of convection to measure temperature. It typically consists of a sealed bulb filled with a gas or liquid and a narrow capillary tube extending upwards. When the temperature of the surrounding environment increases, the gas or liquid inside the bulb expands. This expansion causes the substance to rise within the capillary tube. A scale is marked alongside the capillary tube, indicating the temperature corresponding to the level of the substance.

Konvektorilämpömittarit are relatively simple in design and can be quite accurate within their operational range. They are often used for measuring ambient air temperatures in rooms or in outdoor environments. The expansion and contraction of the fluid are directly proportional to temperature changes, making the readings straightforward. Unlike some other thermometer types, they do not require electricity to operate. Their construction often involves glass, making them susceptible to breakage. Regular calibration may be necessary to ensure continued accuracy, especially after significant temperature fluctuations or physical shocks.
