Kontrolljooned

The concept is common in geopolitics, cartography, and international reporting to describe how control is actually exercised on the ground, especially in disputed or post-conflict areas.

In practice, kontrolljooned function as practical, rather than legal, boundaries. They may be marked by ceasefire lines, fortified front lines, buffer zones, or areas patrolled by security forces.
