Kontinuitní

Kontinuitní is a Czech word that translates to "continuous" in English. It is used in various contexts, often in mathematics and physics, to describe phenomena or properties that are unbroken or seamless.

In mathematics, a function is said to be continuous if its graph can be drawn without lifting the pen. This means that for any point in the domain, there is no sudden jump or gap in the function's value. More formally, a function f(x) is continuous at a point 'a' if the limit of f(x) as x approaches 'a' exists, the function f(a) is defined, and the limit of f(x) as x approaches 'a' is equal to f(a).

In physics, continuity can refer to the unbroken flow of a fluid or the smooth progression of a process. For example, the principle of conservation of mass is often expressed in terms of a continuity equation, which describes how mass is conserved over time in a given region. This equation essentially states that the rate at which mass enters a region must equal the rate at which it leaves, assuming no mass is created or destroyed within the region.
