Konstruktivismist

Konstruktivismist is a philosophical and epistemological stance that proposes knowledge is not passively received but actively constructed by the learner. This view emphasizes that individuals build their understanding and knowledge through experiencing things and reflecting on those experiences. It suggests that learning is an ongoing process of making meaning from information encountered.

The core idea is that learners are not empty vessels to be filled with facts, but rather active participants in their own learning. They connect new information to their existing knowledge and experiences, and in doing so, create their own interpretations and understandings. This means that different individuals may construct different meanings from the same experience or information, leading to a diversity of knowledge.

Key figures associated with constructivist thought include Jean Piaget, who focused on cognitive development in children, and Lev Vygotsky, who highlighted the social aspects of learning and the role of interaction. In educational settings, constructivism often leads to teaching methodologies that encourage exploration, problem-solving, and collaboration, moving away from traditional lecture-based approaches. The emphasis is on the process of learning and how learners develop their own mental models of the world.
