Kongming

Zhuge Liang, courtesy name Kongming, was a Chinese statesman, military strategist, and engineer. He served as chancellor and regent of the state of Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period. Renowned for his intelligence and foresight, Kongming is a central figure in the historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which often embellishes his exploits. He is widely regarded as one of the most brilliant minds in Chinese history.

Born in 178 AD, Zhuge Liang rose to prominence through his strategic brilliance, famously aiding Liu Bei in establishing the state of Shu Han. His military campaigns, though ultimately unable to unify China under Shu, are studied for their innovative tactics and planning. He is credited with significant contributions to governance, including agricultural reforms and the development of the wooden ox and flowing horse, early mechanical transportation devices. His dedication to Liu Bei and his successors, even in the face of overwhelming odds, cemented his reputation as a loyal and devoted advisor.
