Kompuutersüsteeme refers to computer systems. A computer system is a collection of hardware and software that work together to perform a specific task. Hardware refers to the physical components of a computer, such as the central processing unit (CPU), memory, storage devices, and input/output devices. Software, on the other hand, refers to the programs and instructions that tell the hardware what to do.

The CPU is the brain of the computer, responsible for executing instructions and performing calculations. Memory, also known as RAM, is a temporary storage space where the computer keeps data and instructions that are currently being used. Storage devices, such as hard drives and solid-state drives, store data and programs permanently. Software can be broadly categorized into system software and application software. System software includes operating systems, which manage the computer's resources and provide a platform for other software to run. Application software, such as word processors, web browsers, and games, are designed for specific user tasks.

Computer systems vary greatly in size and complexity, from small embedded systems in appliances to large supercomputers used for scientific research. They are fundamental to modern life, powering everything from communication and entertainment to business and scientific advancement. The development and evolution of computer systems continue to drive innovation across numerous fields.
