Kompatibilismista

Kompatibilismista is a philosophical stance on the problem of free will and determinism. It asserts that free will and determinism are compatible. This means that even if all events, including human actions, are causally determined, individuals can still be considered to have free will. The core idea is that free will is not about being uncaused, but rather about acting according to one's own desires, intentions, and reasons, without external coercion.

Compatibilists argue that determinism does not negate the possibility of choice. For a compatibilist, a person acts freely if their actions are the result of their own internal mental states and processes, even if those states and processes are themselves determined by prior causes. The absence of constraint or compulsion is seen as the crucial factor for freedom, rather than the absence of causality.

Different versions of compatibilism exist. Some focus on the ability to do otherwise, suggesting that even if determined, one could have acted differently if they had willed to do so. Others emphasize that freedom lies in acting for reasons that one endorses, regardless of the ultimate origin of those reasons. This view contrasts with incompatibilism, which holds that free will and determinism are mutually exclusive. Incompatibilists are divided into libertarians (who believe in free will and deny determinism) and hard determinists (who believe in determinism and deny free will).
