Komitety (sing. komitet) are formal or informal bodies established within organizations, institutions, or public authorities to perform defined tasks, coordinate activities, oversee programs, or advise decision-makers. They bring together individuals with relevant expertise, stake in the issue, or responsibility for implementation, and operate under a specified mandate, rules, and time frame. Typical features include a chair who leads meetings, a secretary or administrator, regular members, a defined scope of work, and a reporting line to a higher authority such as a council, board, or ministry.
