Kolyadniki
Kolyadniki are traditional carolers in Slavic cultures, particularly in Ukraine, Belarus, and parts of Russia. Their custom, known as Kolyada, is an ancient winter solstice celebration that has been integrated with Christian Christmas traditions. Kolyadniki are typically groups of young people, often men, who dress in elaborate costumes, sometimes including animal masks and bells. They go from house to house during the Christmas season, singing carols and performing short plays or mimes.
