Koleszterinszint

Koleszterinszint refers to the measurement of cholesterol levels in the blood. Cholesterol is a waxy, fat-like substance that is essential for the body to build healthy cells. However, high levels of certain types of cholesterol can increase the risk of heart disease.

There are two main types of cholesterol relevant to blood tests: low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, often called "bad" cholesterol, and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, known as "good" cholesterol. LDL cholesterol can build up in arteries, forming plaque, which can narrow or block blood flow.
