Kokkuleppimisel

It stems from kokkuleppima (to negotiate or agree) and kokkuleppimine (the act of agreeing). The form kokkuleppimisel marks the context of something happening during the process of reaching an agreement or while terms are being settled, rather than after a final written contract has been concluded. It is commonly found in legal, administrative and business texts.

Usage and contexts: The expression is used to indicate that provisions or obligations arise in the course of negotiations. It can describe stages of dispute resolution, contract drafting, or settlement talks. In practice it often appears together with verbs such as saavutati (achieved), sõlmiti (signed), jõuti (reached) or sõnastatakse (worded).

Process and implications: A typical kokkuleppimisel process includes preparation, exchange of proposals, several rounds of negotiation, drafting of terms, and eventual signing. Parties may rely on confidentiality and good faith. The legal effect depends on form: a written agreement reached during kokkuleppimisel is generally binding and enforceable; an oral agreement can also be binding in some contexts but may be harder to prove and may require existing statutory rules.
