Kohdunsisäisinä refers to a condition where a pregnancy develops inside the uterus, as opposed to an ectopic pregnancy which implants outside the uterus, most commonly in the fallopian tube. In a normal, or intrauterine, pregnancy, the fertilized egg travels down the fallopian tube and implants in the lining of the uterus. This is the intended and typical location for a pregnancy to develop.
