Kohdenäyttö, sometimes translated as target display or simply display, refers to a display screen or visual output device within a vehicle. This can encompass a range of technologies, from traditional dashboard gauges to advanced head-up displays (HUDs) and infotainment screens. The primary function of a kohdenäyttö is to convey essential information to the driver and passengers in a clear and accessible manner.

Early vehicle displays were analog and mechanical, relying on needles and dials to show speed, fuel level, and engine temperature.
