Koaxverteiler is a German term that translates to coaxial cable splitter or distribution amplifier. It refers to electronic devices used to divide a coaxial cable signal into multiple separate signals, typically for distributing television or radio signals to multiple receivers. These devices are commonly found in cable television systems, satellite dish installations, and home networking setups where a single coaxial input needs to be shared by several devices such as televisions, modems, or set-top boxes.

There are two main types of koaxverteiler: passive splitters and active splitters, also known as distribution amplifiers. Passive splitters simply divide the signal power among the output ports.
