Knivskjelodden

Knivskjelodden is a prominent headland located on the island of Magerøya in Finnmark county, Norway. It is often mistakenly identified as the northernmost point of mainland Europe, a title that actually belongs to the nearby Nordkapp. However, Knivskjelodden is situated further north than Nordkapp, making it geographically the northernmost accessible point on the island and a significant landmark in its own right. Reaching Knivskjelodden requires a hike from the road leading to Nordkapp. The trail is approximately 9 kilometers long each way and is considered a moderately challenging walk, often requiring sturdy footwear and appropriate clothing due to unpredictable weather conditions.
