Klusteröintiä

Klusteröintiä, or clustering in English, is a fundamental technique in unsupervised machine learning. Its primary goal is to group a set of objects in such a way that objects in the same group, called a cluster, are more similar to each other than to those in other groups. This similarity is determined by a predefined distance or similarity measure.

The applications of klusteröintiä are vast and span numerous fields. In data analysis, it can reveal hidden patterns and structures within datasets, aiding in exploratory data analysis and understanding consumer behavior. For instance, in marketing, businesses use clustering to segment their customer base into distinct groups with similar purchasing habits, allowing for targeted marketing campaigns. In image analysis, it can be used for image segmentation or object recognition by grouping pixels with similar characteristics. Document analysis can benefit from clustering to group similar documents, facilitating information retrieval and topic modeling.
