Kivujen is a fictional city-state and the name of the people who inhabit it in the fantasy setting of Eldoria. It sits on the western coast of the continent of Ghyra, guarding a sheltered bay and a hinterland rich in basalt quarries, timber, and fisheries. The name derives from the local tongue, where kiv meaning stone and the suffix -en marks a place or people.

Historically, Kivujen began as a maritime trading outpost and grew into a regional hub through mastery of metallurgy, shipbuilding, and textile production. Its prosperity attracted merchants from inland realms, leading to a cosmopolitan culture and a governance system that blends merchant interests with elder oversight. A defining moment was the Great Clearing, a landmark reform that standardized caravan and sea routes to improve overland and seaborne connections.

Society in Kivujen centers on harbor life, craftsmanship, and oral tradition.
