Kilokalóriát

Kilokalória is a unit of energy, commonly used to express the energy content of food and the energy expenditure of the human body. It is also known as a Calorie with a capital C, or a kilocalorie. The term kilokalória is derived from the Greek word "kilo" meaning thousand, and "calorie" which is a unit of energy.

One kilokalória is equal to 1,000 standard calories. A standard calorie is defined as the amount of heat energy required to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree Celsius. Therefore, one kilokalória is the amount of heat energy required to raise the temperature of one kilogram of water by one degree Celsius.
